Mini Mandala Workshops

Use the mandala format to provide participants with a tailored means of self-expression, creative problem solving, interpersonal communication and collaboration, perspective, and stress relief, within the work environment. Mandalas are circular designs used by people around the globe for healing, wholeness, self-expression, and relaxation.

Mandala Meditation

Participants will do an open-eyed coloring meditation activity which incorporates focus and quiet coloring. They will learn about their own visual language, so they can personalize their mandala. A terrific way to relax, or, use as a problem-solving exercise and to seek guidance for a question they may have. Activity is accompanied by music. They will also learn some basics about Mandalas in the process. Crosstalk and lively discussion may follow. Materials: crayons, colored pencils, pencil or pen, blank paper, pre-drawn mandalas of various designs.

3D Mandala Rosettes

Participants make unique and colorful, folded 3D rosettes in assorted sizes. They can be used as ornaments, gift decorations, or 3D wall décor for themselves or business office. Your employees will be absorbed and have such fun making and designing these useful and beautiful projects! They will also be shown how to use their own personal designs. Some basics about Mandalas will be learned in the process. Materials: colored and patterned papers, magazines, color markers, glues, scissors, rulers, tracers, yarn, tape, staplers (additional scissors, tape and staplers may be needed from your office); poster board or foam core for wall piece. Magazines donations are appreciated.

Earthworks Mandalas

For this project, your business location needs to have a park or green area nearby where natural materials can easily be found. This is a wonderful way to relax and tune out with Mother Nature for an hour. Natural materials are gathered and brought back to the workroom (optional: work outdoors). They are assembled into Mandala forms and photographed. Final product is the photo document, since the natural materials are transitory. A wonderful project for reflection, and especially appropriate around Earth Day. Learn some basics about Mandalas in the process. Materials: fallen leaves, flower petals, grasses, Cook pine cones, seeds, pods, feathers, and rocks, as available; tape, glue sticks; scissors; cameras or cellphones.

Lily Mazurek, MA

Lily Mazurek is the Founder of Lily Mazurek’s Mandala Workshops in Florida. In 1996 her interest in mandalas sprang to life when she had a life-threatening and life-changing experience with breast cancer. It led to her mandala work for self-healing and, at the continual urging of friends, to create her own mandala workshops. She has been teaching her workshops for 26 years and has developed 5 levels, some of which can be taken individually, or, which can lead to teacher certification in her Mazurek MethodTM.  She recently finished writing a book on her unique perspective on mandalas, including her original technique of making them, called The Mandala Message.

Ms. Mazurek’s Mandala Workshops are part of the Arts in Education Program of Broward County Public Schools, and the Broward Business for the Arts Program. She has held workshops at more than 30 organizations, schools, and universities, as well as privately, on both a national and international level. Today her workshops are both in-person as well as virtual.
